Georgia now has the nation’s No. 1 ranked recruiting class

What a week this has been for Kirby Smart and Georgia’s 2022 recruiting efforts.

On Monday, Georgia picked up a commitment from 3-star offensive tackle Aliou Bah. Wednesday, UGA received a commitment from 5-star defensive lineman Mykel Williams.

And on Thursday, the Dawgs got another one when 4-star defensive lineman Bear Alexander announced his commitment to Georgia.

Georgia started the week with nation’s No. 3 ranked class, per 247Sports’ team rankings for the class of 2022.

Georgia now holds the No. 1 spot in the nation after Alexander’s commitment on Thursday.

The top-five classes are as follows:

  1. Georgia (21 commits, two 5-stars, 12 4-stars, seven 3-stars)
  2. Alabama (17 commits, three 5-stars, 12 4-stars, two 3-stars)
  3. Penn State (26 commits, zero 5-stars, 14 4-stars, 12 3-stars)
  4. Ohio State (16 commits, one 5-star, 14 4-stars, one 3-star)
  5. Notre Dame (21 commits, one 5-star, 15 4-stars, five 3-stars)

Georgia has finished with a top-four class every year since 2017.

2017: No. 3

2018: No. 1

2019: No. 2

2020: No. 1

2021: No. 4

And so far for the 2022 cycle, Georgia is sitting at No. 1. expect another top class for Kirby Smart and the Dawgs.
