We told you that the spring transfer portal window is a very important time for USC football this year. The Trojans need reinforcements on defense, and more precisely, they need them along the defensive front. Guess what? They might be on the verge of snagging a prime piece which — if obtained — will significantly boost their 2023 defense.
News broke on Saturday that Georgia defensive lineman Bear Alexander has entered the transfer portal.
UGA Wire wrote the following about Alexander:
“Bear Alexander had nine total tackles as a freshman in 2022. He added two sacks. Alexander had a particularly strong performance in the national championship game against TCU.
“If Alexander transfers, then it will be a tough loss for Georgia’s defensive line. The Bulldogs were counting on Alexander having a much larger role in 2023.
“Alexander instantly becomes one of the most talented players in the NCAA transfer portal.”
It doesn’t get much better than that if a team is in need of a quality defensive lineman with multiple years of eligibility left.
USC is reportedly at the front of the line among potential landing spots for Alexander:

Updated with some reporting as to why Alexander is transferring. USC(the real one) seems like the landing spot. https://t.co/f4Kw1FDpyu
