Georges Niang, Sixers ready to help Furkan Korkmaz in altercation

Georges Niang and the Philadelphia 76ers appear ready to back up Furkan Korkmaz in his EuroBasket altercation.

Philadelphia 76ers guard Furkan Korkmaz was at the center of the Philadelphia sports world on Sunday when the veteran was involved in an altercation during EuroBasket play for Turkey, his native country.

Korkmaz was ejected from the game as the result of a scuffle he got into with Georgia wing Duda Sanadze. He was followed into the tunnel by Sanadze, Tornike Shengelia and Goga Bitadze. Korkmaz detailed the altercation, saying punches were thrown as a fight broke out among them.

Georges Niang is clearly ready to ride with his teammate in this situation. The Man they call “The Minivan” tweeted at Korkmaz and asked if he needed any backup over there.

Team president Daryl Morey replied with a GIF of the animated character Goku from Dragon Ball Z as it appears that he’s ready to get in the fight as well.

It’s good to see the chemistry growing within this group. For the Sixers to have any success in the 2022-23 season, they need everybody on the same page and playing for one another.
