The San Francisco 49ers made the Super Bowl this past season, and they still could be looking at a quarterback change.
But we already know how star tight end George Kittle feels about the matter.
NBC Sports Boston reporter Tom E. Curran reported on Wednesday that “people who KNOW THINGS” (his emphasis) have signaled to him that the 49ers shouldn’t be counted out in the sweepstakes for Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
Garoppolo, of course, served as Brady’s backup before he was traded to the 49ers, but with Brady turning 43 in August and testing free agency, his Patriots future has been in doubt. Kittle, though, appears to be siding with Garoppolo over the future Hall of Famer.
Kittle posted on Instagram along with a photo of him and Garoppolo celebrating:
“lets run it back 10!”
Obviously, Kittle wasn’t directly speaking about Brady, but the timing (and his caption) certainly suggested that he was supporting his quarterback over any possible replacement.
Even if that replacement has six Super Bowl rings.
