KNOXVILLE — The University of Tennessee hockey club picked up an in-state player when Gavin Damewood signed to play college hockey in Knoxville.
Damewood, a 19-year old forward from Station Camp High School in Gallatin, played his prep hockey for the Hendersonville Commandos, a top program in the Blue Division in the Nashville Area.
The Ice Vols have signed several players this month including Aidan Vanston (goaltender), Nolan Carlson (defenseman); Maclain Chaney (left winger), E.J. Paulhardt (defenseman), Parker Wyatt (forward) and Matt Megazinni (forward).
The Ice Vols were founded in 1966 and are the oldest collegiate hockey team in the South.
