Gators stand pat in midweek men’s basketball NET rankings update

Take a look at the latest NET rankings for Florida following the Christmas holiday.

Florida basketball is off for Christmas week but the games still go on despite a truncated holiday schedule. The Gators got a boost from their 39-point win over Grambling State Tigers inside the O’Connell Center on Friday ahead of their eight-day layoff, moving up to No. 46 in the NET rankings.

Five days later, Todd Golden and Co. find themselves in the same spot despite some changes to the teams around them. Directly ahead of them at No. 45 are the Gonzaga Bulldogs, who also remain in place, while the TCU Horned Toads moved up to occupy the No. 47 spot.

Here’s how the quadrant system breaks things up:

  • Quadrant 1: Home 1-30, Neutral 1-50, Away 1-75
  • Quadrant 2: Home 31-75, Neutral 51-100, Away 76-135
  • Quadrant 3: Home 76-160, Neutral 101-200, Away 135-240
  • Quadrant 4: Home 161-353, Neutral 201-353, Away 241-353

Florida is currently 1-2 against Quad 1 opponents, 2-1 against Quad 2, 1-0 against Quad 3 and 5-0 against Quad 4.

Next up for Florida are the No. 185 Quinnipiac Bobcats, who travel to Gainesville on Saturday, Dec. 30, for Florida’s final non-conference game before the SEC slate. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET and the game can be watched on ESPNU.
