Another member of the 2022 Florida football team entered the NCAA transfer portal on Tuesday morning when redshirt sophomore edge defender [autotag]Lloyd Summerall III[/autotag] decided to search for a new program to play for, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
The 6-foot-5-inch, 231-pound defender from Lakeland, Florida, played in a total of 28 games for the Gators dating back to his first year in 2019. A four-star recruit coming out of high school, he managed to see some action early on under Dan Mullen, but did not earn any significant playing time until the former head coach’s final season in 2021.

Summerall appeared in three games his freshman season before playing in a pair the following year — both earning a redshirt designation. During the 2021 and 2022 campaigns, he appeared in 12 and 11 games, respectively, with most of his reps in the latter season coming on special teams.
He amassed five solo and 10 assisted tackles over his four years in Gainesville, including 1.5 sacks, three tackles for a loss and one fumble recovery, while also returning one kickoff return for 20 yards last fall.
