Things are feeling pretty good on this wonderful Wednesday for the Gator Nation, as the men’s basketball team stopped its Southeastern Conference skid at two games by beating the Ole Miss Rebels at home, 72-63. It was not always pretty, but the Gators got the job done.
Florida was led by junior Colin Castleton, a transfer student from the Michigan Wolverines who has put his game in a higher gear since Keyontae Johnson’s collapse. He very nearly earned a triple-double with blocks, totaling eight — the most for a UF player since Patric Young blocked six shots against Savannah State in 2012, and an O’Connell Center record.
One more @Castleton_ blocked shots nugget for tonight…his 8 blocked shots are an @OConnellCTR record. Here are the players who have blocked 7 in this building:
Dwayne Schintzius (3 times)
Andrew DeClercq
Al Horford

The men next play on Saturday at the Mississippi State Bulldogs with tip off scheduled for 4 p.m. EST. And speaking of playing next, the women’s basketball team is slated to take on the No. 17 Arkansas Razorbacks on the road tomorrow starting at 8 p.m. EST. The Lady Gators have lost four in a row and are still looking to earn their first SEC win.
