We have officially reached the dog days of summer as a new week begins, with the July calendar strolling through its waning week. Although we have been deprived of the American pastime thus far — with exception of the KBO and the NPB as well — Major League Baseball season could be right around the corner if all goes well.

The truncated 60-game season scheduled by MLB is set to start on July 25 under the strict protocol set to mitigate the introduction and spread of COVID-19 among its players and staff. However, it has been a rocky road up to this point, with questions about how well the system they have set up will work.
