It Wednesday and things are starting to pick back up around the Gator Nation with two events today as we barrel towards a sports-packed weekend. But first things first, today represents a significant date on the football program’s calendar with implications that can last for years.

College football’s national signing day is officially here, and according to ESPN, Florida has the 10th-ranked signing class for 2021. Signings are expected to occur throughout the day — many scheduled beforehand to accommodate TV coverage. Speaking of which, ESPN’s coverage of national signing day will span five hours across ESPN2, SEC Network, ACC Network and Longhorn Network while some of the nation’s top prospects will be signing on CBS Sports HQ.

Tonight, the No. 23 men’s basketball team hosts the South Carolina Gamecocks in the O’Connell Center with tip off scheduled for 6:30 p.m. EST. Florida, who is 7-3 in conference play, faces a team fresh off a loss to the Vanderbilt Commodores and has limped to a 2-4 conference record.

We will have coverage of both events here at Gators Wire throughout the day, so be sure to keep checking back!
