Gators look to get this top 2025 LB for game day return trip

The Gators are working hard for this future star linebacker.

Florida football is in the thick of its 2022 schedule but that does not mean that [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag] and Co. are not grinding away on the recruiting trail as well. While the team has struggled on the field the staff continues to utilize every opportunity to bring the best prep prospects to play in the Swamp.

Among those currently being courted by the Orange and Blue is five-star linebacker [autotag]Jadon Perlotte[/autotag] out of Buford, Georgia, who ranks highly in the class of 2025 both nationally and at his position. The 6-foot-3-inch, 200-pound defender is currently working on scheduling a second visit to Gainesville according to Gators Online, with the South Carolina Gamecocks matchup set as his primary target.

“Just talked to my mom today. She is working on it,” he offered when asked about visiting Florida next weekend. “It’s one of the best schools I’ve ever been to.”

Perlotte received an offer from the Gators back in late June when he made his first trip to campus during the program’s summer camp. He was specifically impressed with the way his recruitment was handled and the amount of attention he was given during that visit.

“Their coaches are unbelievable. They care a lot about their players,” the young recruit told Gators Online prior. “It’s also the culture and tradition, so they do things differently down there compared to other schools. That’s why I really needed to get to a game down there.”

Other schools in the running for the future gridiron star are the Georgia Bulldogs, Texas A&M Aggies, LSU Tigers, Tennessee Volunteers, Ohio State Buckeyes, Texas Longhorns, Oregon Ducks and Miami Hurricanes.

Perlotte is a five-star recruit according to the 247Sports composite, which ranks him at No. 33 overall No. 4 at his position nationally. On3’s consensus, however, has him rated at four stars while ranking at Nos. 35 and 3, respectively. The Gamecocks are currently out in front early for his talents with a 22.4% chance of signing him per On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine while the Gators are a close second at 19.6%.
