Florida Gators are hiring Washington Commanders nutritionist to fill another void in coaching staff.

The Florida Gators are working fast to fill any voids on its coaching staff and made its latest move on Tuesday afternoon by hiring a new team nutritionist.

Florida head coach Billy Napier is adding Washington Commanders nutritionist [autotag]Jake Sankal[/autotag], following his numerous seasons of working in the National Football League. Sankal joined the Washington franchise in 2016 as the strength and conditioning coach before adding the title of team nutritionist.

Before his stint with the Commanders, Sankal was the strength coach for the Cleveland Guardians baseball team for six seasons.

Napier hired Sankal because of his ability to work players into healthy routines and better workout habits. Not to mention his NFL experience will go a long way in assisting players when they make the leap from college ball and into the pros.

Napier now has one spot left to fill in his coaching staff, after hiring new secondary coach Will Harris, defensive line coach Gerald Chatman, plus strength and conditioning coach Craig Fitzgerald to round out the list. The Gators still need to find a linebackers coach, following Jay Bateman’s departure to become the new defensive coordinator at Texas A&M.
