Garrett Temple to take part in NBPA virtual golf event for charity

Brooklyn Nets fans can watch Garrett Temple show off his athleticism on Wednesday — though not on the basketball court.

In late May, Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson had their second “The Match” event, giving fans live sports for the first time since the novel coronavirus pandemic put everything on pause. Also featured in the event were Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady and retired, soon-to-be Football Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning — and “The Match” was a major success.

The National Basketball Players Association is following Woods and Mickelson’s lead, but putting a different spin on it with four NBA players.

Along with Danilo Gallinari of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Seth Curry of the Dallas Mavericks and Mason Plumlee of Denver Nuggets, Brooklyn Nets wing Garrett Temple will play the video game World Golf Tour, competing in the Michelob Ultra Open.

The event will take place on Wednesday at 4 p.m. on WGT’s Facebook Live. The winning player receives $25 thousand, which will be donated to the charity of the individual’s choosing. Temple announced on his Instagram that he will be competing on behalf of the nonprofit organization Science Exploration For Kids.
