Former Vol and Chicago White Sox pitcher Garrett Crochet recorded his first strikeout during the 2022 Major League Baseball spring training Sunday.
In his first appearance during spring training, Crochet pitched one inning against Colorado, recording one strikeout and surrendering one hit.
The White Sox (3-1) defeated Colorado (2-2), 4-2, at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Crochet was drafted by the White Sox in the 2020 Major League Baseball draft, selected with the No. 11 overall pick.
Crochet played for the Vols from 2018-20, appearing in 36 games. He was 10-9 and recorded 149 strikeouts at Tennessee.
