This was an extremely entertaining series to watch and was highly competitive. The series came down to this final game and Texas A&M (29-17, 10-11 SEC) started off hot but unlike game two they continued to punch back. The Aggies answered each time Ole Miss (27-21,6-12 SEC) put a score on the board eliminating any chance for a comeback. They built such a strong lead that even with two home runs by the Rebels in the bottom of the seventh inning was not good enough to overcome the eight-run lead.
Coach Ford learned more about her team in this series. After dropping game one and dealing with a little chirping from Ole Miss, the Aggies produced 19 runs, two grand slams, and 20 hits. The whole team played with a swagger we have not seen much this season. This game felt like a growing-up moment as they really stepped up to the challenge Trish Ford put in front of them.
