Game One Highlights: Baseball – Texas A&M vs Mississippi State

Highlights: Aggies drop game one of series against Mississippi State

Talk about dropping the ball early when your season is on the line. Texas A&M entered the game knowing they probably needed to sweep Mississippi State to feel comfortable heading into the tournament play. However, they squandered a five-point lead, left 16 runners on base, then give up a two-run walk-off home run to end the game. As of right now, I do not have a lot of confidence this team will make any noise in either post-season tournament.

The Aggies only have a few opportunities left to keep their NCAA bid alive but are trending in the wrong direction at the moment. In the last three games, they have surrendered 32 runs while only driving in 9 over that same time span. Also, pitching is still riding the struggle bus and the only consistency is how inconsistent they have been this whole season. It’s not looking great, but they did go on a late-season run last year that took them all the way to the college world series. It’s not looking like that’s in the cards this year, but crazy things can still happen.

Game two will start at 6 pm on Friday, May 19th.
