Game balls following LSU basketball’s win over Tennessee

LSU basketball defeated No. 16 Tennessee behind 25 points from Cam Thomas.

The LSU Tigers got a big win on Saturday over the No. 16 Tennessee Volunteers, taking a 78-65 victory.

With the win, LSU moves to 13-6 overall and 8-4 in the SEC. Tennessee falls to 14-5 overall and 7-5 in SEC play.

Tigers freshman guard Cam Thomas led the way once again in scoring with 25 points.

For LSU, the win could increase the team’s seeding in next month’s NCAA Tournament. But from a short-term stance, it propels the Tigers to second place in the SEC behind Alabama — at least for now. The Tigers could end up remaining tied for second in the conference depending on how the other games fair.

Here are the top performers following LSU’s big win on Saturday.

Cam Thomas

Once again, Thomas scored 25 points for the second game in a row. The freshman finished 6-of-16 from the floor and a perfect 11-of-11 at the free-throw line.

Against Tennessee, Thomas had his way on offense as he was able to drive to the basket and score at will. He went 2-of-8 from beyond the arc and also had three rebounds and four assists.
