G League: Jordan Poole scores 19 points in Santa Cruz Warriors’ overtime win vs. Salt Lake City Stars

Jordan Poole added to his impressive performance in the G League Orlando Bubble with 19 points against the Salt Lake City Stars on Saturday.

Heading into Saturday’s contest against the Salt Lake City Stars, Jordan Poole was leading the G League with 24.4 points per game on 44.5% shooting from the field for the Santa Cruz Warriors.

Prior to the start of the Golden State Warriors’ tilt with the Charlotte Hornets, Steve Kerr praised Poole’s performance and the experience he’s getting in the G League Orlando bubble.

He’s been good. He’s really been aggressive. The biggest thing is the experience itself. For him to feel the daily ritual of playing 30 plus minutes and going through the ups and downs within that. You’re going to have some good nights and bad nights. How you maintain your poise within that. How you compete with your teammates within that. That’s what is most important for Jordan. We know he can score. We know he can shoot.

With Nico Mannion and Jeremy Lin sidelined due to injury, Poole was tasked with carrying the Warriors against the Stars.

After a slow start, Poole tallied 15 points in the fourth quarter to push the game into overtime. Santa Cruz outscored Salt Lake City 13-8 in the overtime period to steal a third straight win for the Warriors, 109-104.
