Despite ranking third in scoring in the G League with 22.4 points on 43.7% shooting from the field, Jordan Poole struggled against the Agua Caliente Clippers on Monday night.
The former first-round pick went quiet, scoring eight points on 2-of-7 shooting from the field with four assists and three boards in 23 minutes against Aqua Caliente on Monday.
With Poole buttoned up and Jeremy Lin and Nico Mannion sidelined, Santa Cruz leaned on Axel Toupane and Ryan Taylor. The pair of Toupane and Taylor led Santa Cruz to a blowout victory over Agua Caliente, 129-90 in the Orlando bubble.
Toupane notched a game-high 24 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field in 30 minutes. The 28-year-old veteran added four boards, four assists and four steals in Santa Cruz’s blowout win over Agua Caliente.
