The San Antonio Spurs came into the season with their primary goal being to develop their young core around Victor Wembanyama. But based on the early portion of the season so far, they could aim their sights a bit higher. Through five games, the Spurs are 3-2, and their level of play has exceeded expectations.
Wembanyama is an absolute monster. The 19-year-old Frenchman already looks like one of the best players in the league. At the very least, he’s one of the most unstoppable, as his freakish combination of height and wingspan make him a force on both ends of the court, and teams have struggled to find an answer.
In the Spurs’ recent win over the Phoenix Suns, Wembanyama put up 38 points and 10 rebounds. The Spurs posted his full highlights from the game on their YouTube channel.
Wembanyama is just five games into his NBA career, and he already looks like he’ll be a force to be reckoned with for years to come.
