The NASCAR Cup Series arrived at Kansas Speedway, and it didn’t disappoint. The Final Stage featured several accidents, and what was supposed to be the last green-flag run of the event had incredible fuel mileage drama. However, a late caution turned into NASCAR history, and one driver came out on top.

[autotag]Kyle Larson[/autotag] beat Chris Buescher by 0.001 seconds to win the AdventHealth 400 at Kansas. It is officially the closest finish in Cup Series history, beating what was set at Darlington Raceway in 2003 and Talladega Superspeedway in 2011. Larson got to Buescher’s outside, and the momentum and a little contact gave him just enough to claim the victory.

It is Larson’s second victory of the 2024 NASCAR season, but this has to be the sweetest yet. The “Month of Larson” was supposed to be the Hendrick Motorsports driver’s attempt at “The Double” in the Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600; however, it has started on a high note with the closest finish in Cup Series history.
