Freshman LSU infielder [autotag]Brennan Holt[/autotag] has decided to take his talents to Stillwater, Oklahoma.
In his lone season on the Bayou, Holt appeared in only five games and was 0 for 4 at the plate. He hadn’t seen any game action since March 29.
He is transferring to an Oklahoma State Cowboys team that finished the season 42-22 with a loss to Arkansas in Game 7 of the Stillwater Regional.
Holt committed to LSU out of high school where he played for Parkview Baptist in Baton Rouge. As a senior, Holt batted .469 with 45 hits, one homer, nine doubles, eight triples, 27 RBI, 51 runs scored and 49 stolen bases.
Excited to announce I will be starting a new chapter at Oklahoma State University! Thankful for Coach Holiday and his staff for giving me this opportunity!
Thank you to LSU for allowing me to fulfill a lifelong dream! Grateful for the friends and memories I made at LSU! pic.twitter.com/TGQO4ogDV4— Brennan Holt (@brennanholt7) June 10, 2022
He was one of the top prospects in the state of Louisiana as a recruit, and his departure will hurt LSU’s infielder depth a bit. This news comes a day after outfielder Giovanni DiGiacomo, who appeared in 36 games in 2022, entered his name into the transfer portal.
