Four-star wide receiver Jalen Hale announced his commitment to Alabama on Wednesday.
The Longview native is rated the No. 9 wide receiver in the country for the 2023 recruiting class and the No. 10 overall prospect in the state of Texas, according to 247Sports composite.
Hale released a top three schools list of Texas, Alabama and Georgia back in July. However, the Longhorns and Crimson Tide emerged as the two favorites as his recruitment progressed.

As a junior in 2021, Hale recorded 50 receptions for 1,154 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Although losing out on a talented in-state player like Hale certainly stings, Texas is still in solid shape for the 2023 cycle. The Longhorns currently have the No. 2 class in the country according to 247Sports.
