Four-star Texas defensive lineman Nigel Smith will take a Rutgers football official visit

Nigel Smith will be taking an official visit to Rutgers football in May.

Nigel Smith has his official visits set, and Rutgers football is one of the places the coveted Texas recruit will be going.

A four-star defensive lineman, Smith is the No. 73 player in the nation in the 247Sports Composite where he is also the tenth-best defensive lineman in the nation and the No. 14 prospect in Texas.

At 6-foot-5 and 260 pounds, the class of 2024 recruit projects as an interior defensive lineman. His play last season for Melissa High School (Melissa, TX) was a major reason why the Cardinals went 11-3.

He will have six official visits with Rutgers football getting the first chance on May 19.

On Tuesday afternoon, Smith announced where he will be taking all of his official visits along with their respective dates:

The class of 2024 for Rutgers football recruiting class is up to eight players.

According to On3, Rutgers is currently the No. 45 recruiting class in the nation with one recruit ranked as a four-star and seven commits who are three-star recruits.
