Four-star safety and USC target lists his top 12 schools

USC is not the favorite in this recruitment, but the Trojans have an official visit lined up and will get a chance to make their case.

Jordon Johnson-Rubell has a skill set USC needs. The 5-11, 175-pound safety out of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., included the Trojans in a top 12 he released last week.

Johnson-Rubell, a native of Fort Worth, Texas, is rated as the No. 7 safety in America and the No. 15 player in the state of Florida’s 2024 class.

He is ranked as the No. 86 overall player in the nation.

USC was joined by Ole Miss, Colorado, Oregon, Texas, Oklahoma, Florida State, Wisconsin, Penn State, TCU, Arizona State and Alabama as the safety’s top schools for 2024.

Overall, he has 29 college offers to choose from. Oklahoma, Oregon, TCU, Texas and Texas A&M are considered the favorites to get his commitment by 247Sports. Meanwhile, On3 is projecting that Johnson-Rubell will eventually pick Texas.

For now, Johnson-Rubell has official visits scheduled at Miami and USC. The Trojans need lots of reinforcements in their secondary, which did not perform well in the second half of the 2022 season.
