National signing day may have concluded on Wednesday, but the recruiting cycle never really ends.
The focus now shifts to the 2022 recruiting class under new head coach Steve Sarkisian. The Longhorns are off to a hot start as four-star offensive tackle Jaylen Early recently released the top schools left in his recruitment.
Early is a highly sought-after recruit from Duncanville that has received dozens of offers from Power Five programs. The Longhorns were fortunately among the ten schools remaining on his short list.

Texas will be competing with Ohio State, Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Penn State, Oklahoma, USC and Baylor.Â
This move comes as a bit of a relief after missing out on numerous offensive line recruits from the 2021 class such as Austin Uke who shockingly signed with Stanford over Texas.
The Longhorns finished the 2021 recruiting cycle with the No. 17 overall class according to 247Sports. It’s still early on in the process, but it’s good to know the 2022 class is up and running and the Longhorns have a nice head start to take into next year.
