In a week, the Texas Longhorns could add another name to their recruiting haul. Four star offensive tackle Nick Brooks has set his commitment date for August 23rd and revealed his final three schools. His list includes Georgia, USC and Texas. The Georgia native took official visits over the summer to all programs.
Brooks would be a perfect fit for a Longhorns program looking for help on the offensive line due to his immense stature and ability to shift his weight to accommodate the run game. While Georgia is viewed by many as the favorite, the Longhorns have made some strides as decision day approaches.
If the Longhorns were able to land the Grayson High School product, he would become the program’s 18th commitment from the 2025 class. Texas has the 12th-best recruiting class and has made a good impression on Brooks.
“I had great official visits to all three schools, and all three schools have done a great job recruiting me,” Brooks told On3’s Chad Simmons earlier this month. “I am close to committing to one of them.”
Over the next week, Brooks will be a player many in Austin will keep an eye on. The Longhorns have landed a few talented receivers this month, and adding a player like Brooks to the mix would strengthen the offense line and give the wide receivers more time to get open.
Regardless of what Brooks decides, it is a good sign for Texas that they are one of the final schools in the mix.
