Four-star edge Tausili Akana schedules official visit to Texas

247Sports rates Tausili Akana the No. 1 prospect in Utah and the No. 4 edge in the country for the 2023 class.

Texas seems to be kicking it up a notch in the recruitment of four-star edge Tausili Akana.

Over the weekend, 247Sports and Inside Texas each reported that Akana has locked in an official visit to Texas. The talented pass rusher is expected to make his way to Austin when Texas hosts Alabama on Sept. 10.

Akana is rated the No. 4 edge in the country and the No. 1 overall prospect in Utah for the 2023 recruiting class, according to 247Sports. The Longhorns have some ground to make up in his recruitment, but it doesn’t appear Akana is anywhere close to making a decision.

Akana unofficially visited Texas A&M and Tennessee in June, and took several other visits earlier in the year to programs such as Utah, BYU and Miami.

247Sports favors Oklahoma in his recruitment, while On3 is confident Texas can come out on top.
