Texas and Clemson battled it out until the very end for four-star cornerback Corian Gipson.
Unfortunately for Texas, Gipson announced his commitment to Clemson on Saturday. It appeared to be a neck-and-neck battle between the two programs in his recruitment until recruiting predictions began to favor the Tigers on Friday.
Gipson is rated the No. 7 cornerback in the country for the 2024 recruiting class, according to 247Sports. In the state of Texas, he’s considered the No. 13 overall recruit.
Texas is still in great shape in regards to its 2024 class. The Longhorns appear to be trending for five-star cornerback Kobe Black, five-star edge Collin Simmons, and five-star wide receiver Ryan Wingo among others.
