One of the top edge rushers in the state of Texas is nearing a college decision.
Four-star Braylan Shelby is set to announce his future home on Aug. 6. He will pick between staying home to play for Texas or going west to USC. Shelby took official visits to both programs during the month of June.
Shelby is listed as the No. 15 edge in the nation and the No. 23 overall prospect in Texas for the 2023 class according to the 247Sports composite.
It appears USC is trending in the right direction for Shelby. Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports put in a crystal ball projection in favor of the Trojans on Monday.
The Friendswood standout created havoc in opposing backfields during his junior season. Shelby racked up 77 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, eight sacks and four turnovers forced.
