Four Ohio State men’s lacrosse players were honored last week as USILA All-American Scholars, a program record.

Ohio State’s four USILA All-American Scholars

Joey Salisbury

Salisbury, a Damascus, Md. native who graduated in May with his degree in accounting, started all seven games on defense in 2020 and finished with 16 ground balls and three caused turnovers. His play helped Ohio State become the Big Ten’s No. 1-ranked scoring defense (10.14 goals allowed/game). Salisbury was a four-time OSU Scholar-Athlete, three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and last year was a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar for maintaining a 3.7 or better grade-point average for the 2018-19 academic year.

Lukas Buckley

Buckley was a four-time OSU Scholar-Athlete and a two-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar (2016-17 and 2018-19). He graduated in May of 2019 with his bachelor’s degree in finance and in 2020 with a specialized master’s degree in business/finance from the Fisher College of Business. For his career, Buckley finished with 50 points on 29 goals and 21 assists in 55 games. He will continue his lacrosse career with the Boston Cannons after signing with the team last month.

Tre Leclaire

Leclaire was Ohio State’s leading scorer through seven games with 26 goals and eight assists for 34 points. He was ranked 13th nationally with a 3.71 goals per game average and his final performance of 2020 was a five-goal, six-point outing in a 13-11 win over No. 14 Notre Dame on March 10. In 54 career games, his total of 135 goals is second-most in program history and his 173 points in No. 6 on the all-time list. A three-time USILA All-American, he graduated in May with his degree in sport industry.

Ryan Terefenko

Terefenko was a first team preseason All-American at short stick defensive midfield with 30 ground balls, two goals and four assists through seven games. His play helped the Buckeyes rank in the top 30 nationally in face-off win percentage (29th, .547) and clearing percentage (11th, .889). Terefenko’s 139 career ground balls are the most of any active player on the roster. Like Leclaire, he also graduated in May with his degree in sport industry and is also a three-time USILA All-American.
