Fortnite challenges Chapter 3 Season 2 Week 6

If you’re raring to tick off all the Fortnite weekly challenges, we’ve got the rundown on each of them, from mantling to cabbage throwing.

Week 6 of Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 is upon us, which means a new round of seasonal challenges have opened up. Completing these challenges is a fun way to spice up a game, and they introduce you to mechanics you may not have known existed. On top of that, they’ll earn you delicious XP that you can use to level up fast in Chapter 3 and push yourself along the Battle Pass progression track.

This week’s set of challenges are fairly simple, and you can easily do them all in a single match if you set your mind to it. However, they do require a little bit of map knowledge, and a touch of luck to see what gun/items you find.

Deal 100 damage with one bullet

Fortnite Hunter's Sniper Rifle

A pretty straightforward task that is going to take the right gun and a touch of skill. 100 damage is equivalent to an entire health bar, so even without the challenge, it’s something you should be aiming to do as much as possible anyway.

To put it simply, you’re going to need to get a headshot to even get close with this one. Doing so in the heat of battle isn’t easy, but the right gun can get it done. The Huntsman’s Rifle and the Heavy Sniper Rifle will both do enough, damage but just about any Shotgun at Uncommon tier or better will do it too. Which you’ll find easier depends on what kind of gun you prefer.

Deal 150 damage whilst falling

Fortnite jumping

Unlike the previous challenge, this doesn’t have to be done all in one go, so life is a lot simpler in this regard. Out of all the challenges this week, this is the one you’re most likely to do without even trying, as it should be a natural part of your playstyle.

The easiest way to get this done is to get in a firefight and jump repeatedly. As you’re in the air, any damage you do during this time will count towards this challenge. This is the kind of beginner tip you should be following anyway, as it makes you harder to hit in battle.

Get air time in a tank three times

fortnite-tanks-driving

Getting air time in a vehicle is very easy, especially when cliffs and drops are all over the map. The only trouble with this mission is getting hold of a tank in the first place. Thankfully, this particular season makes them more common than usual.

In almost every major built-up area, there will be a tank nearby. When looking on the map, any area that has an IO hovering over it will have a tank somewhere. The only problem is that they will be occupied by IO soldiers, so you’ll have to carefully take them out without destroying the tank, and then hijack it.

Hit an opponent’s tank with a pistol whilst crouched

Fortnite Weekly challenges week 6 Cropped

Fortnite is a game where players can expect to die a lot, and these challenges love to push you as close to death as humanly possible. When attempting to take out an IO tank, heavy weaponry is generally needed. Either a good Sniper Rifle to hit the pilot, or a Rocket Launcher to mop it up quickly.

Unfortunately, this challenge requires you to take potshots at it with a pea-shooter. Any Pistol is valid for this one. Just head to one of the IO-occupied areas, make sure you’re crouched down, and take a shot. That will complete the challenge, what happens in the immediate aftermath is your problem.

Mantle five times in five seconds

Fortnite Mantling

Fornite Chapter 3 added a bunch of new movement mechanics to the game, sliding is by far the most notable, but a similarly worthwhile one is mantling.

How to mantle in Fortnite

It’s done near any ledge short enough, and holding the space bar will see your character pull themselves up onto the ledge.

Doing it five times in five seconds can be done just about anywhere with the right technique. Pull up on a ledge and then immediately hold back to drop off, if you start holding space as you fall, your character should instantly grab on and mantle again. If that fails, you can try finding an area with a lot of ledges like The Joneses, or carefully construct something with the building tools.

Throw cabbage 100 or more meters in one toss

You may not realise this, but Fortnite is full of fruit and vegetables hidden in boxes throughout the map. Whether this encourages kids to eat their greens or throw them about the place is up for debate, but you’ll need to find some for this challenge.

Most shops will have a cardboard box with a green logo and pictures of food on it. Loot these and you’ll get a random selection of fruit and vegetables that you can throw. Tilted Towers has a few of these in the city, so that is a good place to start searching. Once you’ve found a cabbage, throwing it 100 meters is easy enough, get somewhere high and lob it, it’ll go far enough.

With a Striker Burst Rifle, hit an opponent four times in a row without unscoping

Fortnite Striker Burst Rifle

One of the only challenges this week that requires much shooting skill, the Striker Burst Rifle is one of the best automatic weapons in the game. It doesn’t do the most damage, but its accuracy and rate of fire are enviable, and they’re not too difficult to find.

As long as you stay on the move and loot as much as possible, you’re likely to stumble across one. Once you have it, it’s just a matter of finding someone to shoot. It’s best to control your aim and be careful here, as you need to land four shots consecutively, entirety whilst scoped. Even if you can’t quite get the knack of it, if you use the Striker Burst Rifle as your main weapon for long enough, you’ll hit the mark eventually.
