Former Wisconsin CB sings a reserve/future contract with the Indianapolis Colts

Former Wisconsin Badger cornerback Nick Nelson is back in the NFL as the Indianapolis Colts signed him to a reserve/future contract entering

Another Wisconsin product was signed to a reserve/future contract by an NFL team this week, joining Carolina Panther Chris Orr and Houston Texan Beau Benzschawel—former Wisconsin Badger and now-Indianapolis Colt defensive back Nick Nelson.

Nelson played in 14 games for the Badgers back in 2017 after transferring from Hawaii, recording 35 tackles, 1 tackle-for-loss, 21 passes defended and 1 punt return touchdown.

The cornerback was then signed by the Las Vegas Raiders after the 2018 NFL draft before bouncing around to and from their practice squad.

His Raider career ended with 12 games played, 3 starts, 20 tackles, 1 pass defended and one fumble recovery.

Nelson now gets a shot to enter camp with the Colts and look to make an NFL active roster for the first time since December of 2019.
