Sometimes when one door closes, another door opens wide.

Former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Blake Proehl earned his way to Hollywood on the ABC reality show American Idol. Host Ryan Seacrest took the time to tweet it out during the season premiere on Sunday night.

Proehl signed with the Vikings out of East Carolina as an undrafted free agent but spent the majority of his time on either the practice squad or injured reserve. While rehabbing his injury, Proehl discovered his love of music and released his first single in 2022 titled “Falling Into You.”

Currently, Proehl is a free agent but could end up getting a futures contract and a shot to make a 53-man roster during training camp.
