Former UCLA quarterback Dante Moore chooses Oregon as next home

The former five-star prospect and the No. 4 overall player in the Class of 2023 will have three years of eligibility remaining.

Former UCLA quarterback Dante Moore has committed to Oregon, according to a Monday report from On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Moore was a five-star quarterback prospect in the Class of 2023, the fourth-ranked overall player and the third-ranked quarterback on 247Sports’ rankings.

As a true freshman this past season, Moore played in nine games for UCLA. He threw 213 passes and finished with a completion percentage of 53.5%. He compiled 1,610 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, and nine interceptions throughout his playing time, and ESPN gave him a season-long QBR of 33.1.

Moore began the season with seven touchdowns and a single interception in his first three games after he won the starting job to begin the season, but each of his next three games came against ranked teams. He lost his firm grip on the starting spot after he threw three interceptions in a loss to Oregon State, and he threw for 266 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions in his final appearance against California.

The Michigan native stands 6-foot-3 and is listed at 210 pounds.

Moore will likely assume the backup role for 2024 as former Oklahoma quarterback Dillon Gabriel, who committed to Oregon earlier this month, plays out his last year of availability.
