Former Texas running back D’Onta Foreman has found a new home in Tennessee.
Foreman was drafted by the Houston Texans in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Although he appeared in 11 games with the Texans, injuries began to hinder his production after his rookie season.
In his first year in the league, Foreman appeared in 10 games. He compiled 327 rushing yards and two touchdowns while adding on six receptions for 83 yards. In what started off as a promising year for the Texas ex, Foreman suffered a torn Achilles near the end of the season.
After a long recovery that led to being released by the Texans, Foreman was immediately claimed on waivers by the Indianapolis Colts in August of 2019. That stint was short-lived after Foreman suffered a torn bicep in a preseason game against the Cleveland Browns that placed him on injured reserve.
Third time’s a charm? On Monday night, Foreman’s father tweeted that his son has signed with the Tennessee Titans after a recent tryout. The Titans had an open spot on their practice squad after promoting running back Jeremy McNichols to their active roster.

Foreman was originally a three-star prospect and the No. 64 overall running back in the country out of the 2014 recruiting class. His collegiate career didn’t take off until his junior season, but it was well worth the wait. He rushed for 2,028 yards and 15 touchdowns — earning the Doak Walker Award as the nation’s top running back.
