Former Texas RB target TreVonte’ Citizen decommits from LSU

Could TreVonte’ Citizen be an option to replace Jamarion Miller in the 2022 class?

Four-star running back TreVonte Citizen has decommitted from LSU.

The Lake Charles native is the No. 8 ranked running back in the country according to 247Sports composite rankings.

Texas, Texas A&M, Auburn and LSU all received a visit from Citizen in the summer before he committed to LSU.

247Sports recruiting analyst Gabe Brooks had promising things to say in his evaluation of Citizen:

Will enter college with very low mileage relative to the vast majority of running back recruits. Pure football player who projects to the Power Five level at running back with potential to become an impact starter. Intriguing player who combines high-floor physical traits with untapped potential as a true running back given extensive two-way duties during high school career.

If Texas plans on taking another running back to pair with Jaydon Blue, Citizen could fill a major role in Texas’ 2022 class as the Horns lost Jamarion Miller to Alabama last week.
