Texas Longhorn wide receiver Johntay Cook II, who transferred to the Washington Huskies last week, took to social media to address reports that quarterback Quinn Ewers had received a nearly $6 million offer to transfer to an unnamed school.
These reports quickly circulated on social media after a verified report from On3 Sports Pete Nakos shared the news.
Cook responded to the reports on social media with a message saying, “Wasting y’all money fr [for real].”
Cook, a sophomore, played in 19 games over two seasons with the Longhorns. He gained a reputation as a dynamic receiver with a knack for making crucial plays.
In the 2024 season, Cook started with three receptions for 56 yards against Colorado State. He continued to impress with standout performances, including a two-touchdown game against UTSA.
