Former Spartan Trae Waynes suffers pec injury during Bengals practice

Waynes could miss up to two months, but is seeking a second opinion.

Former Michigan State star Trae Waynes’ time in Cincinnati has gotten off to a rough start.

According to multiple Bengals reporters the former All-Big Ten cornerback suffered a pectoral injury during a training camp practice with the Bengals. According to the NFL Network Waynes is going to seek a second opinion on the injury, but the prevailing thought is that it will force him to miss extended time. Preliminary timelines sideline him for up to two months.

Waynes signed with the Bengals this offseason on a reported three-year contract worth up to $42 million.

Waynes, a first-round pick in the 2015 draft, spent his first five seasons with the Minnesota Vikings. Last season, Waynes made 14 starts and tallied one interception, eight pass deflections and two forced fumbles.
