Former Michigan State basketball star Cassius Winston has been sent down to the NBA G League by the Washington Wizards, the team announced on Saturday. Winston will join the Erie Bayhawks of the NBA G League in their bubble located in Orlando this upcoming week.
This shouldn’t be looked at in a negative way whatsoever as this will give Winston more reps than he was able to get with the Wizards currently.

Winston — who was selected by Washington in the second round of this past year’s NBA Draft — had been averaging 2.2 points, 1 assist and 0.7 rebounds across 7.3 minutes per game this season. He has appeared in six games for the Wizards.
It was announced earlier this week that former Spartan (and teammate of Winston) Matt McQuaid will be playing in the NBA G League for the Canton Charge. McQuaid and Winston were both key members on Michigan State’s last Final Four squad in 2019.
