Former Sixers wing Matisse Thybulle cut from Australian national team

Former Philadelphia 76ers wing Matisse Thybulle was cut from Australia’s national team.

The Paris Olympics are right around the corner and now’s the time for everybody to get their rosters right for the when the time comes. Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid will represent Team USA in the Olympics as he looks to help the Americans bring home another gold medal in basketball.

Former Sixers wing Matisse Thybulle was a key piece of Australia taking home a bronze medal in the 2020 Olympics, but it appears that he will not be a part of the Boomers in the upcoming Olympic games.

Australia announced their roster for the 2024 Olympics and Thybulle did not have his name on the list.

The 20th overall pick in the 2019 draft, Thybulle averaged 4.4 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.5 steals in 3.5 seasons with the Sixers. He was then sent to the Portland Trail Blazers at the 2023 deadline in a 3-team deal that sent Jalen McDaniels to Philadelphia from the Charlotte Hornets.
