Former Patriots OL Isaiah Wynn among top free agents still available

The roster is essentially set for the Las Vegas Raiders now that the NFL Draft is over. For the most part, this will be the team that they take with them going into the 2023 season. However, there is still one glaring hole on the roster.

The Raiders have to improve the right guard spot this summer as Alex Bars was among the lowest-graded offensive linemen in the league last season, according to Pro Football Focus. So could the Raiders look to add a veteran option sometime this summer?

In a recent article by Matt Bowen of ESPN, he ranked the top 13 free agents still on the market. That list includes former Patriots OL Isaiah Wynn, who just finished out his rookie contract. Here is why Bowen believes Wynn is still one of the top veterans still available:

Wynn started just seven games for the Patriots this past season, logging a pass rush win rate of 87.2% (outside the top 40).

Despite injuries and an uneven start to his pro career — he started only 40 games during his four years in New England — Wynn has high-end traits. He’s a good mover with upper-body power and the footwork to play inside or on the edge of the pocket.

Wynn has played mostly tackle during his time in New England, but he does have the ability to play inside at guard. With the Raiders needing help at right guard, Wynn makes a ton of sense for Las Vegas given his familiarity with the front office and coaching staff.

If the Raiders decide that they do need to bring in veteran help to improve their offensive line, Wynn will likely be their first call. Expect some sort of movement to happen with Wynn over the next few months as we get closer to training camp.
