Former Patriot believes Miami would be the smartest move for Tom Brady

Tom Brady has a huge decision to make — one that he’s never made before.

His future with the New England Patriots is unclear and testing the free agent market is the next step for him. Brady said on numerous occasions that he doesn’t plan to retire and that he still has more to prove. Whether that’s with the Patriots or not, nobody knows.

So, what would be the best options for Brady if he were to leave at the age of 42? Some teams at the forefront include the Los Angeles Chargers, Indianapolis Colts and the Carolina Panthers.

Brady’s former teammate Tank Williams believes that the AFC East rival, Miami Dolphins, would be the perfect scenario for him.

“The Dolphins already showed that they have the blueprint to beat Tommy Boy, but now if you go down to Miami, you play with Brian Flores, you’re basically playing with New England South,” Williams said, transcribed by NESN. “You have DeVante Parker, Preston Williams, all of these weapons on the offensive side of the ball. Defense is playing better and Xavien Howard didn’t even play the majority of the season. You have some draft picks in the first round. I think they can build a nice nucleus under them. I think Miami would be the smartest move for him and you get to play against the division you’ve played in your entire career.”

Brady does have some familiarity because of Flores and the fact that New England plays Miami twice a year. It’s a team on the rise with some valuable draft picks and decisions to make. But, it doesn’t seem like a realistic option for Brady to in turn, play the Patriots twice a year.

Miami is a solid hypothetical situation, but there’s a very slim chance that it becomes a reality.
