Former Oklahoma wide receiver Sterling Shepard returned to action on Thursday night for the first time since Week 2 in the New York Giants’ 22-21 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Shepard caught six passes for 59 yards and a touchdown for the Giants. He led the team in yards and tied for the team lead in receptions with tight end Evan Engram.

New York’s passing game is certainly much better with the return of Shepard. The former Sooner is a favorite target of quarterback Daniel Jones because of his versatility to play either outside or in the slot.

The 27-year-old Shepard is in his fifth NFL season. During his time in Norman, Shepard finished as No. 2 in Oklahoma history in both career receptions and receiving yards. He is tied for No. 4 with 26 career touchdown receptions.
The 1-6 Giants host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday Night Football in Week 8.
