The Los Angeles Chargers are quietly boasting some of the league’s top young talent in the form of quarterback Justin Herbert and former Oklahoma linebacker Kenneth Murray.

After putting together a stellar rookie season for the Chargers, Murray has been named to the Pro Football Writers’ Association All-Rookie team. His teammate Herbert was named PFWA Rookie of the Year and Offensive Rookie of the Year.

There simply aren’t many players who are up to the task of starting at middle linebacker during their rookie season, but Murray faced the task head-on and made the most of the opportunity, turning heads along the way. He’s now reaping the benefits of his hard work and preparing to take another step in year two.

Murray was drafted to the Chargers with the 23rd overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. He played three seasons at Oklahoma from 2017-19. During his time in Norman, Murray totaled 325 tackles, 36.5 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks and a forced fumble.
