“Big Thank You to the OKC Police dept.! Lunch sponsored by Modelo. Happy Cinco de Mayo!” he posted on Twitter.  “Honoring first responders with lunch from La Luna sponsored by Modelo. Appreciate their service!!” another tweet read.

Stoops coached at Oklahoma for 18 years, but more recently was head coach of the Dallas Renegades of the XFL. In his time with the Sooners, he went 190-48 as head coach, winning one national championship and posting a 9-9 bowl record. His win-loss percentage is .798, good for 17th all-time amongst college football head coaches.

He coached the Renegades to a 2-3 record before the league filed for bankruptcy amidst the coronavirus.

Stoops, one of the largest proprietors of the XFL, was owed over $1 million after it’s collapse.
