There is no offseason in college football. Recruiting and the transfer portal are in full swing, and once again an Ohio State player has found a new home. Former walk-on wide receiver Austin Kutscher announced his intentions to enroll at another Big Ten school, Iowa.
It is always a bit odd seeing someone transfer within the conference, but this seems to be the Hawkeye specialty this offseason. Iowa has already added Erick All and Cade McNamara from Michigan and Deacon Hill from Wisconsin.
Kutscher arrived as part of the class of 2018 as a preferred walk-on from Massillon, Ohio, where he dominated in high school — snagging 93 receptions for 1,349 yards and 15 touchdowns in his senior season. He saw action in three games during his career in Columbus.
Hopefully, Kutscher can see valuable time at Iowa and improve its 123rd-ranked passing attack this past season.
