Former Ohio State defensive lineman gets the bag in NFL free agency

Former Ohio State defensive lineman gets the bag in NFL free agency #GoBucks

NFL free agency has kicked off and it is always fun to monitor which former Ohio state football stars get paid.

The first day of this free agency period brought two memorable names. We already covered the signing of Vonn Bell to the Carolina Panthers, but another former Buckeye defensive star is going from the AFC to the NFC. Dre’Mont Jones goes from the Denver Broncos to the Seattle Seahawks.

The latest reports indicate Jones is signing a three-year deal for $52.53 million dollars. In the front-loaded deal, Jones receives $23.5 million during his first season and the remaining $35.02 million over the course of his next two seasons.

Jones was an absolute stud at Ohio State. He earned freshman All-American honors and twice earned All-Big Ten status before being drafted in the third round of the 2019 NFL draft by the Denver Broncos, with whom he has been a very good defensive tackle.

We’ll continue to track former Ohio State players as they sign deals during the NFL’s free agency season.
