Former Notre Dame standout [autotag]Jamir Jones[/autotag] has been released by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He spent 2022 with the squad, spending significant time on special teams as he recorded 10 tackles. He had spent the year previous with the Steelers, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Los Angeles Rams.
Jones last played at Notre Dame in 2019 where he recorded 50 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, and 4.5 sacks that season. He was undrafted out of college before signing with the Dallas Cowboys.
Jones is now a free agent as he looks for a new NFL home. His release now leaves the Steelers with no former Fighting Irish players on the roster.
