Former Notre Dame pitcher John Michael Bertrand is on the move again. Bertrand, who was Notre Dame’s top starter on the 2022 team that earned a spot in the College World Series, has been promoted by the San Francisco Giants organization.
Bertrand continues to move up for the Giants. He had started this season in low-A San Jose before being promoted to high-A in Eugene. He combined to go 9-2 with a 2.85 ERA between the two stops and has been promoted again, this time to AA Richmond.
Bertrand was a 10th round draft pick of the Giants in 2022. His brother JD is the top-returning tackler for the Notre Dame football team in 2023.
